Description

These caramelized cinnamon bananas are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and bursting with sweet, warm flavors. Perfect as a topping for pancakes, oatmeal, yogurt, or even ice cream!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or coconut oil for dairy-free)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (or honey/maple syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bananas: Slice bananas into ½-inch rounds and set aside.
  2. Heat the Pan: In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Caramelize the Bananas: Add the banana slices in a single layer. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Cook for about 2 minutes until the bottoms start to turn golden.
  4. Flip & Finish: Gently flip the bananas and cook for another 1–2 minutes. Drizzle with vanilla extract and stir gently to coat.
  5. Serve: Enjoy warm as a snack, or serve over pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, or ice cream!

Notes

  • Extra Flavor: Add a dash of nutmeg or a drizzle of honey for extra sweetness.
  • Make It Crunchy: Sprinkle with crushed nuts or granola before serving.
  • Storage: Best served immediately, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheated in a pan.
