Description

This easy and flavorful recipe ensures tender, juicy chicken breasts every time. With a simple seasoning blend and proper cooking techniques, this versatile dish pairs well with almost any side.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 1/2 lbs / 700g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Optional Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a baking dish.

2. Prepare the Chicken:

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Place the chicken on the prepared baking sheet or in the dish. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken, then rub it in to coat evenly.

3. Season the Chicken:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Sprinkle the seasoning evenly over both sides of the chicken breasts, rubbing it in gently.

4. Bake:

  1. Place the chicken in the preheated oven and bake for 18-22 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken breasts.
    • Chicken is cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  2. For a golden crust, broil the chicken for an additional 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.

5. Rest and Serve:

  1. Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to retain its juices.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges for added brightness.

Notes

  • Thickness Adjustment: Pound thicker chicken breasts to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
  • Serving Ideas: Pair with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
