Description

Oreo pancakes are a decadent and fun twist on classic pancakes, featuring crushed Oreos in a rich chocolate batter and topped with a creamy Oreo glaze. Perfect for a special breakfast or dessert treat, these pancakes are a hit with kids and adults alike!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the pancakes:

  • 1 1/4 cups (155 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (240 ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 Oreos, crushed

For the Oreo glaze:

  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (plus more as needed)
  • 4 Oreos, finely crushed

Optional toppings:

  • Whipped cream
  • Extra crushed Oreos
  • Chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Prepare the batter:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the crushed Oreos. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes.
  2. Cook the pancakes:
    • Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or cooking spray.
    • Pour about 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set, about 2–3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1–2 minutes, until cooked through. Remove and keep warm. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  3. Make the Oreo glaze:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and crushed Oreos until smooth. Adjust the consistency with more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
  4. Assemble and serve:
    • Stack the pancakes on a plate and drizzle with the Oreo glaze. Top with whipped cream, extra crushed Oreos, and chocolate syrup if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent twist, sandwich two pancakes with whipped cream or ice cream.
  • Use double-stuffed Oreos for a creamier flavor.
  • Leftover pancakes can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the microwave or toaster.
