For the Crust:
- 24 Oreo cookies, crushed into fine crumbs
- 6 tbsp (85g) unsalted butter, melted
For the Filling:
- 2 cups (480ml) chocolate ice cream, softened
- 1 box (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 3/4 cups (420ml) cold milk
- 1/2 cup (125g) hot fudge sauce, warmed
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
- 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For Topping:
- 1/2 cup (75g) crushed Oreos (for garnish)
- Chocolate shavings or additional hot fudge sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Make the Crust:
- In a bowl, mix the Oreo crumbs with melted butter until well combined.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish.
- Place in the freezer for 15 minutes to set.
- Add the Ice Cream Layer:
- Spread the softened chocolate ice cream over the chilled Oreo crust, smoothing it with a spatula.
- Freeze for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
- Make the Chocolate Pudding Layer:
- In a medium bowl, whisk the chocolate pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened.
- Spread the pudding evenly over the ice cream layer and return to the freezer for another 15-20 minutes.
- Add the Whipped Topping:
- In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Spread the whipped cream over the pudding layer, covering it completely.
- Garnish:
- Sprinkle crushed Oreos over the top and add chocolate shavings or drizzle hot fudge sauce for an extra touch.
- Chill and Serve:
- Chill in the freezer for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Let the pie sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with additional fudge sauce, if desired.
