Description

Soft, moist banana bars with a rich, gooey texture and sweet banana flavor—perfect for using up ripe bananas and satisfying dessert cravings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2-3 bananas)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Mix in the egg, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon (if using) until just combined.
  5. Fold in white chocolate chips, if using.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • Bars will firm up as they cool—don’t overbake if you want them gooey.
  • Try adding chopped walnuts or pecans for a crunchy twist.
