Ingredients
- 3 cups mini pretzels, crushed slightly
- 1 cup caramel sauce (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- Optional: Sea salt flakes for garnish
Instructions
-
Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
-
Layer the Pretzels: Spread the crushed pretzels evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form a base layer.
-
Add the Caramel: Pour the caramel sauce over the pretzel layer, spreading it evenly to cover all of the pretzels.
-
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
-
Top with Chocolate: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the caramel layer, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
-
Chill: Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 1-2 hours, or until the bars are firm and set.
-
Serve: Once set, remove the bars from the pan using the parchment overhang and cut into squares. Sprinkle with sea salt flakes if desired. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For an extra layer of flavor, drizzle additional caramel over the chocolate layer before chilling.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
