Description

This recipe combines the crunchy delight of Rice Krispies with the chocolatey-peanut butter goodness of classic Muddy Buddies. It’s a no-bake, easy-to-make treat perfect for parties, snacking, or gifting.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Makes about 8 cups:

  • 6 cups (180 g) Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup (180 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (180 g) powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cereal:

    • Place the Rice Krispies cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. Melt the chocolate mixture:

    • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is smooth and melted.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Coat the cereal:

    • Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the Rice Krispies. Gently fold the cereal with a spatula until all the pieces are evenly coated.
  4. Add the powdered sugar:

    • Transfer the chocolate-coated cereal into a large resealable plastic bag or a bowl with a lid. Add the powdered sugar. Seal the bag or cover the bowl and shake well until the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Cool and serve:

    • Spread the coated Rice Krispies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper to cool and set. Once set, transfer to an airtight container for storage.

Notes

  • For a festive twist, add sprinkles, M&M’s, or mini marshmallows after coating with powdered sugar.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • This recipe can be doubled to serve a larger crowd.
