Description

Mississippi Sin Dip is a creamy, cheesy, and savory appetizer loaded with flavors of ham, cream cheese, and cheddar. Baked inside a crusty loaf of bread, it’s perfect for game days, parties, or holiday gatherings. Serve it warm for a dip that’s absolutely irresistible!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (16 oz) loaf of French bread or sourdough bread
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Bread:

    • Cut the top off the loaf of bread and hollow out the inside, leaving about a 1-inch thick shell. Reserve the bread pieces for dipping.
  3. Mix the Dip:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar, sour cream, diced ham, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  4. Fill the Bread Bowl:

    • Spoon the dip mixture into the hollowed-out bread loaf. Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil.
  5. Bake:

    • Place the wrapped loaf on a baking sheet and bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the dip is hot and bubbly.
  6. Serve:

    • Unwrap the foil and place the bread bowl on a serving platter. Use the reserved bread pieces, crackers, or veggies for dipping.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the dip.
  • If you don’t have a bread loaf, bake the dip in a baking dish and serve with crackers or chips.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
