Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken (or ground turkey)
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped (oil-packed, drained)
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for cooking)
Optional for Serving:
- Tzatziki sauce
- Pita bread or buns
- Fresh greens and sliced cucumbers
- Cherry tomatoes and red onion slices
Instructions
-
Mix the Ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, feta cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, red onion, parsley, dill, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Add the egg and breadcrumbs and mix until just combined. -
Form the Patties:
Divide the mixture into 6-8 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2-inch thick. If the mixture is too sticky, wet your hands lightly with water. -
Preheat the Pan:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. -
Cook the Patties:
Add the chicken patties to the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary. -
Serve:
Serve the patties warm with a drizzle of tzatziki sauce. They are delicious in pita bread with fresh veggies or over a salad for a lighter meal.
Notes
- For extra moisture, add 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt to the mixture.
- These patties can also be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15-18 minutes or grilled for a smoky flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
