- 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup milk or heavy cream
- 1–2 tbsp maple syrup or brown sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add sweet potatoes and cook for 15–20 minutes or until fork tender.
- Drain well and return sweet potatoes to the pot.
- Add butter, milk, salt, and maple syrup or brown sugar if using. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in cinnamon if desired. Adjust seasoning to taste and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra creaminess, use heavy cream instead of milk.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg for warm flavor.
- Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.
