Scale
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan:
- Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the parchment paper.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- In a medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add Flavorings:
- Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), chopped dried cherries, and toasted almonds. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Pour into the Pan:
- Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Smooth the top.
- Chill:
- Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2-3 hours, or until set.
- Cut and Serve:
- Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into small squares with a sharp knife. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- For a nut-free version, omit the almonds or substitute with sunflower seeds or crushed pretzels for crunch.
- You can use dried cranberries or a mix of dried fruits if cherries are unavailable.
- Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
