Description

Inspired by the iconic Cherry Garcia flavor, these luscious fudges combine the richness of chocolate with the sweetness of dried cherries and crunch of chopped almonds. They’re a decadent treat that’s perfect for gifting or indulging yourself.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries, chopped
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly grease the parchment paper.
  • Melt the Chocolate:
    • In a medium saucepan, combine chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Heat over low heat, stirring constantly, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
  • Add Flavorings:
    • Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in vanilla extract, almond extract (if using), chopped dried cherries, and toasted almonds. Mix until evenly distributed.
  • Pour into the Pan:
    • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Smooth the top.
  • Chill:
    • Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2-3 hours, or until set.
  • Cut and Serve:
    • Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang. Cut into small squares with a sharp knife. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, omit the almonds or substitute with sunflower seeds or crushed pretzels for crunch.
  • You can use dried cranberries or a mix of dried fruits if cherries are unavailable.
  • Store the fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
