Description

Classic New England-style lobster rolls featuring tender lobster meat dressed in butter and mayo, served in toasted buns.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 top-split hot dog buns
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chopped lobster meat with melted butter, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and chives (if using).
  2. Season the mixture with salt and pepper to taste. Mix gently to combine.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and butter the outer sides of the buns.
  4. Toast the buns in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Fill each toasted bun with a generous portion of the lobster mixture.
  6. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with extra chives or lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Use fresh or high-quality frozen lobster meat for the best flavor.
  • For a lighter version, use less mayonnaise and more lemon juice.
  • Chill the lobster mixture for 15 minutes before serving for a refreshing touch.
