Ingredients
Units
Scale
- 2 oz (60 ml) limoncello
- 4 oz (120 ml) fresh orange juice
- 1/2 oz (15 ml) grenadine
- Ice cubes
For Garnish (Optional):
- Orange slice
- Maraschino cherry
- Fresh mint sprig
Instructions
1. Fill the glass:
- Fill a tall glass (like a highball or Collins glass) with ice cubes.
2. Mix the cocktail:
- Pour the limoncello and fresh orange juice over the ice. Stir gently to combine.
3. Create the sunrise effect:
- Slowly pour the grenadine into the glass. It will sink to the bottom, creating a beautiful gradient effect.
- Do not stir—let the colors stay separated for the best visual effect.
4. Garnish and serve:
- Garnish with an orange slice, a maraschino cherry, or a sprig of mint for a refreshing finish.
- Serve immediately with a straw and enjoy the visual “sunrise” before mixing!
Notes
- Use blood orange juice for a richer color and deeper citrus flavor.
- Add a splash of prosecco or sparkling water for some fizz.
- For a non-alcoholic version, replace limoncello with lemon syrup and add a splash of sparkling water.
