- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 lemon)
- 2 tbsp capers, drained
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Sauté the Garlic
- Heat butter and olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Step 2: Build the Sauce
- Pour in chicken broth, lemon juice, capers, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly reduced.
Step 3: Finish & Serve
- Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.
- Serve warm over grilled chicken, salmon, shrimp, pasta, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- Make it Creamy: Stir in ¼ cup heavy cream at the end for a richer sauce.
- Thicker Sauce: Add ½ tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water and simmer until thickened.
