Description

A colorful and fun twist on classic Rice Krispie treats, made with layers of different colored Peeps marshmallows to create a vibrant, festive dessert perfect for spring or Easter.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cups Rice Krispies cereal per layer (12 cups total for 3 layers)
  • 3 packages (3 oz each) Peeps marshmallow chicks in different colors (e.g., pink, yellow, blue)
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper (for pan)

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add one package of Peeps and stir until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in 4 cups of Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated. Press mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish using a spatula or wax paper.
  4. Repeat the process with the second color of Peeps and another tablespoon of butter. Once mixed, layer it evenly on top of the first layer.
  5. Repeat again with the third color and final tablespoon of butter, layering it on top of the second.
  6. Allow treats to cool completely, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

  • Press each layer firmly to ensure they stick together well.
  • Use different shaped Peeps or seasonal marshmallows for themed variations.
  • Do not overheat the Peeps to prevent hardening the treats.
