Description

July Firework Cupcakes are festive, colorful treats decorated with red, white, and blue frosting and sparkler-style toppings—perfect for 4th of July parties and summer celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • Red and blue food coloring
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tub (16 oz) vanilla frosting or homemade buttercream
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • Decorative sparkler picks or candy firework toppers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. Prepare cake mix according to package instructions and stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Divide batter evenly into three bowls. Tint one red, one blue, and leave the third plain (white).
  4. Spoon small amounts of each colored batter into the cupcake liners, layering or swirling gently with a toothpick for a marbled effect.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
  6. Divide frosting into three portions and tint two of them red and blue, leaving one white. Fill a piping bag with the three frostings side by side for a tri-color swirl effect.
  7. Pipe frosting onto cooled cupcakes and decorate with sprinkles and optional firework toppers.
