  • 12 oz bow tie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy), casings removed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Stir in diced tomatoes (with juice), basil, and oregano. Simmer for 5–7 minutes to blend flavors.
  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley or basil if desired. Serve hot.
