- 12 oz bow tie (farfalle) pasta
- 1 lb Italian sausage (mild or spicy), casings removed
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook bow tie pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add Italian sausage and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles.
- Add chopped onion and garlic. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in diced tomatoes (with juice), basil, and oregano. Simmer for 5–7 minutes to blend flavors.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley or basil if desired. Serve hot.
