Description

This Hot Ranch Sausage Dip is a creamy, cheesy, and savory appetizer loaded with crumbled sausage, ranch seasoning, and melty cheese. Perfect for parties, game days, or any gathering, this warm dip is a crowd-pleaser served with chips, crackers, or veggies.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground sausage (spicy or mild)
  • 8 oz (226 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
  • 1 packet (1 oz/28 g) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) diced tomatoes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) diced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
  2. Prepare the dip base:
    • In a large bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and ranch seasoning until smooth and well combined.
  3. Combine the ingredients:
    • Add the cooked sausage, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and diced tomatoes (if using) to the cream cheese mixture. Stir until fully incorporated.
  4. Bake the dip:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the mixture to a greased 8×8-inch baking dish or a similar-sized ovenproof dish. Smooth the top and sprinkle with additional cheese, if desired.
    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  5. Garnish and serve:
    • Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with diced green onions and serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Slow cooker option: Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave before serving.
  • Variations: Add diced jalapeños or hot sauce for extra spice, or mix in cooked bacon for additional flavor.
