Description

This hot honey Chex Mix is the perfect balance of sweet heat and crunchy goodness. Made with a buttery, spicy honey glaze and a mix of cereal, nuts, and pretzels, it’s a must-have for parties, game nights, or just snacking!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 3 cups Corn Chex cereal
  • 2 cups pretzels
  • 1 cup roasted peanuts (or cashews)
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot or Sriracha)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Set oven to 300°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the Chex cereal, pretzels, and peanuts.
  • Make the hot honey glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, whisk together melted butter, honey, hot sauce, smoked paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  • Coat the mix: Pour the hot honey glaze over the dry ingredients and gently toss to coat everything evenly.
  • Bake: Spread the mixture in an even layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  • Cool and serve: Let the mix cool completely before serving—it will crisp up as it cools.

Notes

  • Want it extra spicy? Add more cayenne or drizzle with extra hot honey after baking.
  • Make it smoky-sweet by adding a teaspoon of chipotle powder instead of cayenne.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week!
