Hot Ham and Cheese Pinwheels are the perfect appetizer or snack. Made with crescent roll dough, deli ham, and gooey melted cheese, these pinwheels are simple to prepare and packed with flavor. They’re ideal for parties, game days, or a quick family-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices of deli ham
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the crescent roll dough on a clean surface, pressing the seams together to form a single sheet.
  3. Spread Dijon mustard evenly over the dough, if using.
  4. Layer the ham slices over the dough, covering the entire surface. Follow with the cheese slices.
  5. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
  6. Slice the log into 1-inch pinwheels and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds, if desired.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can use honey mustard or mayonnaise instead of Dijon mustard for a different flavor.
  • Substitute Swiss cheese with cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack for variety.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
