Description
Hot Fudge Pie is a rich, gooey chocolate dessert with a fudgy center that tastes like a cross between a brownie and molten lava cake. With a crisp top and warm, melty chocolate inside, it’s an indulgent treat perfect for serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Simple to make and always a crowd-pleaser!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)
Instructions
-
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan or an 8×8-inch baking dish. -
Prepare the Batter:
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add the flour, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using. -
Bake the Pie:
Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan or baking dish. Smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly gooey (a toothpick inserted should come out with moist crumbs). -
Serve Warm:
Allow the pie to cool for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra decadence!
Notes
- This pie is best served warm to enjoy the gooey texture. You can reheat slices in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds if needed.
- For a deeper chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder or add a tablespoon of espresso powder to the batter.
