Description

This Honey Mustard Turkey Avocado Sandwich is the perfect combo of sweet, tangy, and creamy. Thinly sliced turkey is layered with fresh avocado, crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and a homemade honey mustard spread, all tucked between toasted bread. It’s simple, delicious, and ready in minutes!


Ingredients

For the sandwich:

  • 4 slices of whole grain, sourdough, or sandwich bread (toasted if desired)

  • 6-8 slices of deli turkey (about 6 oz)

  • 1 ripe avocado, sliced

  • 4 tomato slices

  • 2 leaves of romaine or butter lettuce

  • 2 slices provolone, Swiss, or cheddar cheese (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the honey mustard spread:

  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or Greek yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)


Instructions

  • Make the honey mustard:

    • In a small bowl, stir together mayo (or yogurt), Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice. Mix until smooth and creamy.

  • Assemble the sandwich:

    • Spread honey mustard sauce on one side of each slice of bread.

    • Layer turkey slices, cheese (if using), tomato, avocado, and lettuce on two of the slices.

    • Sprinkle avocado and tomato with a pinch of salt and pepper.

    • Top with remaining bread slices, sauce-side down.

 

  • Serve:

    • Slice in half and serve immediately.

    • Add chips, a pickle, or fruit on the side for a complete meal.


Notes

  • Want extra crunch? Add thin red onion slices or cucumber.

  • Make it spicy by adding a dash of hot sauce or using spicy mustard.
