For the Turkey Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp green onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (to thicken)
For Serving:
- Cooked rice or noodles
- Sliced green onions & sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Meatballs
- In a bowl, mix ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, green onions, salt, black pepper, onion powder, smoked paprika, and soy sauce until combined.
- Shape into 1-inch meatballs (about 16-18 meatballs).
Step 2: Cook the Meatballs
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add meatballs and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Honey Garlic Sauce
- In the same pan, add honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and red pepper flakes.
- Simmer for 2 minutes, then stir in the cornstarch slurry.
- Cook for 1-2 more minutes, until thickened.
Step 4: Combine & Serve
- Return meatballs to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
- Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
