  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)

For Garnish:

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Lemon wedges (optional)

Instructions

🍤 Prepare the Marinade:

  1. Make the Sauce:

    • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Marinate the Shrimp:

    • Add shrimp to the sauce and marinate for 10-15 minutes (or skip the marinade for a quicker meal).

🔥 Cook the Shrimp:

  1. Heat the Oil:

    • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook the Shrimp:

    • Add shrimp to the skillet (reserve marinade) and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and slightly caramelized.
    • Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

🍯 Make the Sauce:

  1. Thicken the Sauce:

    • Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet.
    • Bring to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch slurry (mix cornstarch with water).
    • Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  2. Combine Shrimp and Sauce:

    • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet.
    • Toss to coat the shrimp evenly in the sticky sauce.

🍽️ Serve:

  1. Garnish and Serve:

    • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
    • Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for brightness (optional).
  2. Serving Suggestions:

    • Serve over rice, noodles, or alongside steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

Notes

  • For Extra Crispiness: Lightly coat the shrimp in cornstarch before frying for a crispy finish.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheating Tip: Reheat in a skillet over low heat to maintain the sauce’s consistency.
