Ingredients:
Chicken:
1 ½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
⅓ cup cornstarch
2 eggs, lightly beaten
½ cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
¼ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (optional)
Honey Garlic Sauce:
⅓ cup soy sauce
⅓ cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
In separate bowls, place cornstarch, beaten eggs, and flour.
Season the chicken with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
Dredge each piece of chicken in cornstarch, then dip in beaten eggs, and coat with flour.
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same pan, combine soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar. Cook until the sauce thickens.
Add the fried chicken back to the pan, coating it in the honey garlic sauce.
Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
Serve the Honey Garlic Chicken over rice and enjoy!
