Honey Bun Cake is a moist and sweet cinnamon-swirled cake made with yellow cake mix and topped with a sugary glaze, reminiscent of the classic honey bun pastry.

- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, sour cream, and oil. Mix until smooth and well blended.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the batter in the dish.
- Pour the remaining batter on top and spread gently to cover the cinnamon mixture.
- Use a knife to swirl the layers slightly.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
- Remove cake from oven and immediately pour glaze over the hot cake.
- Let the cake cool before serving.
Notes
- For extra richness, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream if desired.
- Best served warm or at room temperature.
