This homemade honey BBQ sauce is the perfect balance of sweet, tangy, and smoky flavors. Made with simple ingredients like ketchup, honey, brown sugar, and spices, it’s an easy way to elevate ribs, chicken, burgers, or even fries!

- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
Instructions
- Combine ingredients: In a saucepan over medium heat, add all the ingredients and stir well.
- Simmer: Bring to a gentle simmer, then reduce heat to low. Let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- Adjust seasoning: Taste and adjust sweetness, tanginess, or spice level as desired.
- Cool and store: Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before transferring to a jar. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- For a spicier sauce, add extra cayenne or a dash of hot sauce.
- If you want a thicker sauce, let it simmer longer or add 1 teaspoon of cornstarch mixed with water.
- Works great on grilled chicken, ribs, pulled pork, wings, or even as a dipping sauce!
