Description

Crispy and flavorful homemade egg rolls filled with a savory mixture of ground pork, cabbage, and carrots, perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook ground pork over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add garlic, ginger, cabbage, carrots, and green onions. Cook until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let the filling cool slightly.
  4. Place an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner facing you. Add 2 tablespoons of filling near the center.
  5. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll up tightly. Seal the edge with beaten egg.
  6. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  7. Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry egg rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes each.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Use pre-shredded coleslaw mix for convenience.
  • You can bake or air fry egg rolls for a healthier alternative.
  • Serve with sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or hot mustard.
