Description

These Homemade Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks are soft, fluffy, and loaded with garlic butter and melted cheese. They’re the perfect side for pasta, soup, or salad—or a delicious snack on their own.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Roll out dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick and transfer to prepared sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and garlic powder. Brush over dough.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until cheese is melted and edges are golden.
  9. Let cool slightly, then cut into breadsticks. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

  • Use Italian seasoning or chili flakes for extra flavor.
  • For a shortcut, use store-bought pizza dough.
  • Serve with marinara or ranch for dipping.
