Description

Bright, refreshing, and bursting with holiday cheer, this citrus cocktail combines the tangy flavors of fresh citrus, the warmth of ginger, and a splash of sparkling fizz. Perfect for toasting the season!

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the cocktail:

  • 2 oz (60ml) vodka or gin (optional for a mocktail)
  • 1 oz (30ml) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 oz (30ml) freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz (15ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 oz (15ml) ginger syrup (or simple syrup for a milder flavor)
  • 3 oz (90ml) sparkling water or ginger ale

For garnish:

  • Orange or lime slices
  • Fresh cranberries
  • Rosemary sprig

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass:
    • Fill a glass with ice. Optionally, rim the glass with sugar for extra sparkle: rub a citrus wedge around the rim and dip in sugar.
  2. Mix the cocktail:
    • In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka or gin (if using), orange juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and ginger syrup. Shake well for about 10 seconds.
  3. Assemble the drink:
    • Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. Top with sparkling water or ginger ale for a fizzy finish.
  4. Garnish and serve:
    • Garnish with a slice of orange or lime, a few cranberries, and a sprig of rosemary for a festive touch. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, skip the alcohol and use ginger ale or sparkling water as the base.
  • To make homemade ginger syrup, simmer equal parts water, sugar, and sliced fresh ginger for 10 minutes. Strain and cool before use.
