Description

This chocolate nice cream is a creamy, naturally sweet, and dairy-free alternative to traditional ice cream. Made with frozen bananas and cocoa powder, it’s an easy and healthy treat with no added sugar!

Ingredients

Units Scale

  • 3 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1-2 tablespoons peanut butter or 1 tablespoon honey/maple syrup for extra sweetness

Instructions

  • Freeze Bananas: Peel and slice ripe bananas, then freeze them for at least 2–3 hours (or overnight).
  • Blend: In a food processor or high-speed blender, add the frozen bananas, cocoa powder, almond milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • Adjust Texture: If needed, add a little more milk for a softer consistency.
  • Serve: Enjoy immediately for a soft-serve texture, or transfer to a container and freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer scoopable nice cream.

  • Top It Off: Garnish with chocolate chips, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or a drizzle of peanut butter!

Notes

  • Extra Creamy: Blend in ½ an avocado for a richer texture.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week. Let it sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping.

  • Flavor Variations: Add a pinch of cinnamon, espresso powder, or a handful of frozen berries for a twist!
