Description

Ham and Swiss Cracker Melts are a quick and delicious bite-sized appetizer or snack. Perfect for game day, parties, or when you want a simple treat, these cheesy crackers are loaded with savory ham, melted Swiss cheese, and a touch of Dijon mustard.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 24 buttery round crackers (like Ritz)
  • 12 thin slices of deli ham, cut into halves
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese, cut into quarters
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for a sweet touch)

Optional garnish:

  • Chopped parsley
  • Poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the crackers:
    • Arrange the crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Mix the sauce:
    • In a small bowl, combine Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, and honey (if using). Spread a small dollop of the sauce on each cracker.
  4. Layer the toppings:
    • Place half a slice of ham on each cracker, followed by a quarter slice of Swiss cheese.
  5. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 6–8 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish and serve:
    • Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley or a sprinkle of poppy seeds, if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Substitute Swiss cheese with cheddar, Havarti, or Gruyère for a different flavor.
  • Add a thin slice of pickle or tomato for an extra burst of flavor.
  • These cracker melts are best served fresh but can be reheated in the oven for 2–3 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
