Description

A savory ham and cheese quiche with a buttery crust, creamy egg filling, and melty cheese. Perfect for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup half-and-half or whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges. Prick the bottom with a fork. Optionally, pre-bake for 5–7 minutes to avoid sogginess.
  3. Sprinkle the ham, cheeses, and green onions evenly into the crust.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until smooth.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the fillings in the crust.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is just set and the top is lightly golden.
  7. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute cooked bacon or turkey instead of ham.
  • Add sautéed vegetables like spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Quiche can be served warm, room temperature, or cold.
