Description

Halloumi Bites are golden, crispy cubes of pan-fried or baked halloumi cheese, perfect as a snack, appetizer, or salad topper. They’re savory, chewy, and deliciously addictive.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz halloumi cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for pan-frying) or cooking spray (for baking)
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano (optional)
  • Fresh lemon wedges, for serving
  • Optional dipping sauce: tzatziki, spicy honey, or marinara

Instructions

  1. Pat halloumi dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. For pan-frying: Heat olive oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add halloumi cubes and cook, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy on all sides, about 5–7 minutes total.
  3. For baking: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place halloumi cubes on a lined baking sheet, spray lightly with cooking spray, and bake for 15–20 minutes, turning halfway, until golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle with oregano if using and serve immediately with lemon wedges and dipping sauce of choice.

Notes

  • Halloumi holds its shape when cooked and doesn’t melt, making it ideal for frying or baking.
  • Serve over salads, grain bowls, or alongside grilled vegetables.
  • Try a drizzle of chili oil or balsamic glaze for added flair.
