- 1/3 cup (75ml) vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon green gel food coloring (or a few drops liquid food coloring)
- 24 red heart sprinkles or candies (for decoration)
- 1/2 cup (60g) powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
- Make the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Add the green food coloring and mix until the dough is evenly colored. Adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your desired Grinch-green hue.
- Shape the Cookies:
- Scoop tablespoons of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Add the Heart:
- Gently press a red heart sprinkle or candy into the center of each dough ball.
- Bake:
- Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft. Avoid overbaking to keep them chewy.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- These cookies are perfect for holiday gatherings, gift exchanges, or as a fun treat for kids.
Notes
- For a homemade version, replace the cake mix with a simple sugar cookie dough.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- Use mini red candies or pipe red icing for the heart if heart sprinkles aren’t available.
