Description

These Grinch Christmas Truffles are adorable, no-bake treats inspired by the holiday classic. Made with a sweet and creamy center coated in green candy and topped with a tiny red heart, they’re the perfect festive addition to your Christmas dessert table!

Ingredients

Scale

For the truffle filling:

  • 1 package (8 oz/225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups (180 g) powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 cups (200 g) crushed vanilla wafer cookies (or graham crackers)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the coating:

  • 2 cups (340 g) green candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (optional, for a smoother coating)

For decoration:

  • Red heart sprinkles (or use a red candy cut into heart shapes)

Instructions

1. Prepare the truffle filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar until fully combined.
  3. Add the crushed vanilla wafers and vanilla extract, mixing until a dough forms.

2. Shape the truffles

  1. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll them into balls.
  2. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.

3. Melt the candy coating

  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the green candy melts in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  2. Stir in the vegetable oil if the coating seems too thick.

4. Coat the truffles

  1. Using a fork or skewer, dip each chilled truffle into the melted candy coating, ensuring it’s fully covered.
  2. Tap off excess coating and place the truffle back onto the parchment paper.

5. Decorate

  1. While the coating is still wet, place a red heart sprinkle on each truffle.
  2. Let the truffles set at room temperature or refrigerate for faster setting.

6. Serve

  • Arrange the truffles on a platter or package them in festive tins for gifting.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Freezing: Freeze uncoated truffle balls for up to 3 months. Thaw, coat, and decorate as needed.
  • Flavor variation: Add a few drops of peppermint extract or almond extract to the filling for a holiday twist.
