Description

Grilled Watermelon is a surprising and delicious summer treat. Lightly caramelized on the outside with a juicy, sweet interior, it’s perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or even a unique dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small seedless watermelon, cut into 1-inch thick wedges
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: fresh mint, feta cheese, or a drizzle of balsamic glaze for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  2. Brush watermelon slices with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt.
  3. Grill each slice for 2–3 minutes per side, or until grill marks appear and the melon softens slightly.
  4. Remove from the grill and transfer to a serving platter.
  5. Top with optional garnishes like fresh mint, crumbled feta, or balsamic glaze for added flavor.

Notes

  • Use firm watermelon to ensure it holds up on the grill.
  • Best served warm or at room temperature right off the grill.
  • Great as a starter, side dish, or served with grilled meats.
