Description

Green Jello Salad is a nostalgic, creamy dessert salad made with lime Jell-O, crushed pineapple, cream cheese, and whipped topping. It’s light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet with a subtle tang. Serve it chilled as a side dish or dessert—it’s always a crowd favorite!

Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz) box lime Jell-O gelatin

  • 1 cup boiling water

  • 1 (8 oz) can crushed pineapple, undrained

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup cold water

  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

  • Optional mix-ins: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

  • Optional topping: extra whipped topping or maraschino cherries for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve lime Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved.

  2. Add 1 cup cold water and the entire can of crushed pineapple (with juice). Stir to combine.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add to the Jell-O mixture and whisk or blend until well mixed (a hand mixer works great for a smooth texture).

  4. Chill mixture in the fridge for about 30–45 minutes, until it starts to slightly thicken but hasn’t fully set.

  5. Fold in whipped topping and any optional mix-ins like nuts or marshmallows.

  6. Pour into a serving dish, mold, or 9×13-inch pan. Chill for at least 4 hours or until fully set.

  7. Top with extra whipped topping and cherries before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Make it in a bundt mold for a fun, classic presentation!

  • For a lighter version, use light cream cheese and lite whipped topping.

  • This salad is best served cold and can be made a day ahead.
