- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup (120 g) creamy peanut butter 🥜
- 3/4 cup (150 g) brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated sugar
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups (160 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (180 g) chocolate chips 🍫 (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1/2 cup (75 g) peanut butter chips (optional, for extra peanut butter flavor!)
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prepare
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
2. Make the Dough
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and peanut butter chips.
3. Bake the Bars
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft and gooey.
- Let cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift out using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
