- 1 lb (500g) store-bought or homemade gnocchi
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (14 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook gnocchi in a large pot of boiling salted water according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In an oven-safe skillet or saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add cooked gnocchi to the sauce and stir to combine.
- Sprinkle Parmesan and mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Transfer to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.
Notes
- Add cooked spinach or sautéed mushrooms for extra veggies.
- Use a cast iron skillet for an easy stovetop-to-oven transition.
- Leftovers reheat well for lunch the next day.
