Description

These Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms are buttery, garlicky, and coated in a savory Parmesan cheese crust. Cooked to golden perfection, they make the perfect side dish, appetizer, or steak topping. Ready in just 15 minutes, this dish is simple yet packed with flavor! 🍄🧄🧀✨

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb whole cremini or button mushrooms (cleaned & stems trimmed)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (or olive oil for a lighter option)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional, for extra flavor)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Sauté the Mushrooms

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt butter.
  2. Add whole mushrooms and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to brown and release moisture.

Step 2: Add Garlic & Seasoning

  1. Stir in minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Cook for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently, until garlic is fragrant.

Step 3: Add Parmesan & Finish

  1. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms and toss gently.
  2. Cook for 1-2 more minutes until cheese slightly melts and forms a light crust.

Step 4: Garnish & Serve

  1. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  2. Serve immediately as a side dish, appetizer, or over steak, pasta, or rice.

Notes

  • Extra Crispy Parmesan: After cooking, broil mushrooms in the oven for 2 minutes for a crispy cheese crust.
  • Lighter Version: Use olive oil instead of butter and skip the Parmesan.
  • Make It Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
