- 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder (optional for spice)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Tacos:
- 8 small tortillas (flour or corn)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced red onions
- Optional: sour cream, fresh cilantro, lime wedges
Instructions
- Cook the Beef:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
- Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, push the beef to one side and melt the butter on the empty side. Add the minced garlic to the butter and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Combine the Sauce and Beef:
- Mix the garlic butter into the beef. Stir in the BBQ sauce, honey, smoked paprika, and chili powder (if using). Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Let the mixture simmer for 2–3 minutes to blend the flavors.
- Warm the Tortillas:
- Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or wrap them in foil and warm in the oven.
- Assemble the Tacos:
- Fill each tortilla with a generous scoop of the garlic butter honey BBQ beef.
- Top with shredded cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, red onions, and any additional toppings you like.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately with lime wedges on the side for extra zest.
Notes
- Substitute ground chicken or turkey for a lighter option.
- Use a smoky or spicy BBQ sauce for extra depth of flavor.
- Add avocado slices or a drizzle of ranch dressing for a creamy topping.
