Scale
- 1 lb picanha steak (or sirloin cap, ribeye, or flank steak)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Season the Steak:
- Pat the steak dry with paper towels, then generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
-
Sear the Steak:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the steak to the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side (for medium-rare) or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness.
- Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside to rest.
-
Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add butter.
- Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
-
Finish with Garlic Butter:
- Return the steak to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top to coat.
- Remove from heat, slice the steak, and garnish with fresh parsley.
-
Serve:
- Serve immediately with the garlic butter drizzled over the sliced steak.
Notes
- For extra flavor, let the steak marinate in salt for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Adjust cook time based on steak thickness and desired doneness.
- Pair with sides like roasted potatoes, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
