Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb picanha steak (or sirloin cap, ribeye, or flank steak)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a touch of heat)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the Steak:

    • Pat the steak dry with paper towels, then generously season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Sear the Steak:

    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the steak to the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side (for medium-rare) or until it reaches your preferred level of doneness.
    • Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside to rest.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add butter.
    • Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, but not browned.
  4. Finish with Garlic Butter:

    • Return the steak to the skillet, spooning the garlic butter sauce over the top to coat.
    • Remove from heat, slice the steak, and garnish with fresh parsley.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve immediately with the garlic butter drizzled over the sliced steak.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, let the steak marinate in salt for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Adjust cook time based on steak thickness and desired doneness.
  • Pair with sides like roasted potatoes, sautéed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
