Description

A unique twist on two comfort food classics, this garlic bread pasta combines buttery, garlicky breadcrumbs with pasta for a simple yet indulgent dish that’s full of flavor and crunch.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably from day-old bread)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add breadcrumbs and red pepper flakes, if using. Cook, stirring frequently, until golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic breadcrumb mixture. Add a splash of reserved pasta water if needed to help coat the noodles evenly.
  5. Stir in Parmesan cheese and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  6. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on top if desired.

Notes

  • Use panko for extra crunch if preferred.
  • For a heartier version, add cooked bacon or sautéed mushrooms.
  • This recipe works well as a main or side dish.
