- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
- Slowly add milk and cream while whisking until smooth.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble, about 5–7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Let the mixture cool slightly, then pour into popsicle molds.
- Insert sticks and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until solid.
- To release, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds.
Notes
- For a dairy-free version, use plant-based milk and coconut cream.
- Adjust sweetness to taste before pouring into molds.
- Store popsicles in the freezer for up to 2 weeks for best flavor.
