- 4 cups Fritos corn chips
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can chili beans
- 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Optional toppings: sour cream, chopped green onions, sliced jalapeños
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add diced onion and garlic, cooking until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in chili beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the Fritos, then spoon over the chili mixture.
- Top with remaining Fritos and sprinkle shredded cheese over the top.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot with optional toppings like sour cream, green onions, or jalapeños.

- You can use store-bought or homemade chili.
- Try using pepper jack cheese for an extra kick.
