Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a crispy, golden dessert bursting with creamy cheesecake filling and sweet strawberries. These indulgent treats are perfect for a fun twist on cheesecake and are sure to wow at any gathering.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • For the Sandwiches:
    • 8 slices of white or brioche bread
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries
  • For Frying:
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
    • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • For Garnish (Optional):
    • Whipped cream
    • Strawberry sauce or fresh strawberries
    • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
    • In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Spread the cream cheese mixture onto 4 slices of bread.
    • Top each slice with a few strawberry slices and cover with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches. Press gently to seal the edges.
  3. Prepare for Frying:
    • In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and cinnamon (if using).
    • Place the granulated sugar in a separate bowl for coating.
  4. Fry the Sandwiches:
    • Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Test the oil with a small drop of batter—it should sizzle immediately.
    • Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides, and carefully place in the hot oil.
    • Fry for 1–2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  5. Coat in Sugar:
    • While the sandwiches are still warm, roll them in the granulated sugar until evenly coated.
  6. Serve:
    • Slice the sandwiches in half and serve with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, or a drizzle of strawberry sauce for extra indulgence.

Notes

  • For added flavor, mix a little lemon zest into the cream cheese filling.
  • Swap strawberries for other berries like blueberries or raspberries for variety.
  • These are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispness.
