Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic

Ingredients:

1 medium-sized cabbage, shredded

6 slices bacon, chopped

1 large onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for some heat)

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove bacon from the skillet and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.

In the same skillet, add thinly sliced onions and minced garlic to the bacon grease. Sauté until the onions are translucent and fragrant.

Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet. Toss the cabbage with the onions and garlic, allowing it to cook down.

Season the cabbage mixture with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well to combine the flavors.

Cook the cabbage, stirring occasionally, until it reaches your desired level of tenderness. You can cover the skillet to help the cabbage cook through.

Once the cabbage is cooked, add the crispy bacon back into the skillet. Toss everything together to combine.

Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Serve the Fried Cabbage with Bacon, Onion, and Garlic hot as a flavorful side dish. Enjoy!
