Description

Fried Bananas with Brown Sugar is a quick, delicious treat that takes just minutes to make. Ripe bananas are caramelized in brown sugar and butter until golden and sweet. Serve them warm on their own or over ice cream, pancakes, or yogurt for an irresistible dessert or snack!

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas (not too soft), sliced lengthwise or into thick rounds

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.

  2. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon (if using), and a pinch of salt. Cook for about 1 minute until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to bubble.

  3. Add the banana slices in a single layer. Cook for 1–2 minutes on each side, or until golden and caramelized. Be gentle when flipping to avoid breaking the bananas.

  4. Remove from heat and drizzle with vanilla extract if using.

  5. Serve warm on their own or over ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal.

Notes

  • Use bananas that are ripe but still firm for best texture.

  • Add a splash of rum or a squeeze of lime juice for a fun twist.

  • Great as a topping or quick dessert with minimal ingredients.
