Scale
- 1 pre-baked 9-inch pie crust (homemade or store-bought)
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 oz unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs (pasteurized)
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Optional: chocolate curls or shavings for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3–5 minutes.
- Blend in the melted, cooled chocolate and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating on high speed for about 5 minutes after each addition. This creates a light, silky texture.
- Spoon the chocolate filling into the cooled, pre-baked pie crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Chill the pie in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Top the chilled pie with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate curls or shavings if desired.
- Serve chilled and store leftovers in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Use pasteurized eggs to ensure safety, as this is a no-bake filling.
- The pie needs several hours to chill, so plan ahead.
- For added texture, use a graham cracker or Oreo crust instead of traditional pastry crust.
